Exhibition by Stefan Gierowski on the painter's favourite canvas formats. Since the 1960s Stefan Gierowski has particularly valued the representation of space in paintings two metres high. Writing about the exhibition, he characterises the meaning he has found in the interdependence between him and the painted image: In a way, this format exists in proportion to my physicality. Is it just a coincidence? Or perhaps something more? It has nothing to do with the perfection of the painting – there is only the pleasure and charm of such a space.
