The Art of Education (Sztuka edukacji) is a series of annual conferences on culture in the curriculum in its broadest sense and on the possibilities for cooperation between schools and public and non-public cultural institutions (e.g. local government cultural institutions or NGOs) in developing educational projects. This year's conference is organised by Zachęta in collaboration with the Służewski Culture House and the Botanical Garden of Warsaw University.

In recent years, there has been a growing awareness of the climate and environmental crisis, as well as a kind of deeper return to nature, partly due to pandemic isolation. This phenomenon is also reflected in art and education. More and more often, artists draw attention to the responsibility of man towards nature, and their projects deepen knowledge, sensitise or even directly engage in the process of nature conservation. We can also observe a number of educational initiatives shaping the ecological awareness of children and young people.

This year, therefore, we want to talk about the relationship between nature and art, consider what environmental education actually is, and pay attention to the language and tools used to communicate about nature and ecology. How can cultural institutions and NGOs support school teachers in nature and environmental education? What can artists do for nature? How to include nature education in cultural projects? We hope that the conference will become a space to exchange good practices and discuss the possibilities of combining cultural, nature and environmental education.

*The Conference The Art of Education. Nature and art – the ecosystem of the future" will be held in a hybrid format. Most of the events will take place on an online platform, which can be accessed by filling in the "form. Walking workshops and walks are also planned, which can be attended stationary in Warsaw.
