What actually is a museum? Who decides which objects are shown in the museum? How are these objects made to speak? These questions are the focus of the activities in the Test Spaces.

The focus is on two themes: Berlin in the Middle Ages and everyday life and childhood in Berlin around 1900. Explore the founding of Berlin on a city model, go to school like your great-great-grandparents, try out writing utensils from different eras, or listen to the stories of the residents of a typical Berlin apartment building - for the Test Spaces, the title is also the program.

Children and visitors can create their own exhibition in miniature format, which will then be displayed in the museum. Personal Berlin objects are also welcome here. The Test Spaces are aimed at all museum visitors: families, groups or school classes as well as individualists. There is enough space to work and experiment as well as to stay and relax.
