The Materia

Materia was formed in 2008 by two brothers Michał and Tadeusz Piesiak and Jakub Marciniak. At the beginning of 2009 they released the demo Vandals, with which they immediately gained some popularity. In 2010, second guitarist Adrian Dubiński joined the band. Materia began to tour intensively throughout Poland, winning reviews for young bands. In 2011, the band released the EP Holidays on the Angels Island, and in the same year, as the winner of National Eliminations, they gave a concert on the Main Stage of the Woodstock Festival. In early 2013 they self-released and produced their debut Case of Noise (2013), as well as their second album We Are Materia (2015). In 2013 they tried their hand at Polsat's Must Be The Music. Their third album The Rising was released in 2019, and in 2015 they played at some of the most notable metal festivals in the world – Wacken Open Air, MetalBlast in Cairo, EuroBlast in Cologne. They visited Poland's Woodstock three times, and in 2021 they played at Brutal Assault. The main roles in their music are played by metalcore, nu-metal, thrash, djent, but the band does not limit itself to these influences.
