The Palace of Culture and Science is a cultural center located in the building of the same name. It has a wide offer of courses for children and youth, it also hosts many cultural events.
The building itself serves a seat for theaters, universities, a cinema, clubs and cafes. One of its biggest tourist atractions is the viewing tarrace located on the 30th floor.
The Palace of Culture and Science building is an intresting spot on Poland's architecture map. It is the highest building in Poland, it has 44 floors (237m). The construction belongs to the Warsaw City Hall. The Palace was raised in the years 1952-55 as a gift from the Russian Nation to the Polish Nation. The architect, Lew Rudniew, was hugely inspired by the Chicago's and Moscow's buildings. Its style is a mix of art deco, socrealism and polish historicism.
