Thrice and Refused are two undisputed greats in the international hardcore scene. Both bands stand for uncompromisingness, depth and a musical vision. At the end of the year, they will be performing live in Munich and Berlin as part of their "UK EU 2019 tour

Refused's The Shape of Punk to Come is one of the most influential hardcore albums, but 21 years ago the situation was completely different. With devastating reviews, lack of commercial success and poorly-attended concerts, the US tour was stopped after performing half of the shows. The dissolution of a concert by the local police in a cellar in Virginia was the last signal for the band around vocalist and eccentric Dennis Lyxzén that it was time for a hiatus.

Ironically, this ending was the starting point for the myth of the four furious men from Umeå, Sweden. Their mix of punk, hardcore and metal as well as surprising elements of jazz, electro and ambient made them post mortem to a commercially successful phenomenon. The riff from New Noise knows practically anyone who has not lived under one stone for the past twenty years.

In 2012, finally, all those who had not been able to experience Refused live before finally got their money's worth. On their reunion tour, they played a number of festivals and their own shows brought the unrestrained energy, volume and power of their songs back on stage and compensated for the way too long wait. 2015 followed Freedom – the first studio album after 17 years.

Thrice belongs to the bands, which shift with each further album the musical borders and the horizon again. Born in Post-Hardcore with a punk attitude, the Californian's sound, after nine studio albums, some EPs and live albums, on the current tenth studio longplayer Palms, not only blends punk and hardcore with post-rock, but also excels with melodic, quieter sounds from prog rock to stadium anthems. Driving rhythms and terrific tempo changes make Palms another Thrice-milestone with which the band made it into the top 40 of the German charts. In fact, it's unlikely that there will be a second chance to experience Thrice and Refused in one evening, on the same stage. The two exclusive Germany concerts will take place on 11 November in the Munich Tonhalle and one day later at Huxley's in Berlin.
