Affected by the musicianship of his grandfather, who played saxophone and Romani and Hungarian folk music, Radovan Tariška went to study at Žilina Conservatory, but he trained jazz by himself, mainly by touring and recording with many musicians throughout Europe and eventually New York.
"The easiest way to learn how to play jazz, is to learn from the best. Music has to be first and foremost felt. It is not necessary to try to understand it at any cost."
