About Fábia Rebordão
Enthusiasts of open, unconventionalised fado have no doubt today: alongside the goddesses: Mariza and Ana Moura, it is Fábia Rebordão who is emerging as the most interesting, boldly exploratory artist of the genre. She fell in love with fado while listening to Amalia Rodrigues. However, in Lisbon, where she was born, it is impossible not to also absorb other Lusophone sounds. Fabia has always worshipped Caboverdian morna, Brazilian bossa or blues. These influences have made her music particularly rich and colourful. In addition to the Lusophone influences, a fascination with the classics can also be heard in her music. Fábia is supported by her husband - singer, author and composer - Jorge Fernando. It is with him that she co-writes some of the songs for her second album Eu, which makes Fábia Rebordão one of the hottest names in Portuguese music in 2016. Fábia's latest project is the two-disc album Eu Sou. The traditional part is dedicated to the legend of Amalia, while the other half is dedicated to new sounds in fado.
