Trumpet, banjo and a feel for well-pitched stops are the main ingredients of ŠouflŠou's work. Then it's just the arrangements with reference to New Orleans jazz bands, uncompromising tuba and their own lyrics, in which good old Czech songwriting shines through.
It is not for nothing that names like Jiří Suchý, Karel Plíhal or Ivan Mládek come to mind. The band ŠouflŠou is proud of the traditional Czech lyricists and tries to take their legacy one step further. And although this six-member band was formed as a trio in 2015, it only took its final form in 2019 with the arrival of the clarinet.
