Midge Ure, who joined Ultravox in 1980 while recording and composing songs for the album Vienna, greatly influenced the formation of a then new style in music, derived from post-punk and new wave, which was later called new romantic. It is believed that the album Vienna (1980) was one of the precursors of this style. Subsequent albums Rage in Eden (1981), Quartet (1982) and Lament (1984) established Ultravox as one of the co-creators of the most important developments in rock and pop music, which were undoubtedly the emergence of new romantic, new wave and synth-pop in the first half of the 1980s. In 2008, to the great surprise and joy of hundreds of thousands of fans around the world, the reactivation of Ultravox after 23 years of not being on stage was announced. The band went on tour. Meanwhile, in 2012, Brilliant was released, the first album in 28 years by the formation with the original lineup. The album received rave reviews around the world. In 2014, after 13 years of waiting, Midge's long-awaited solo album Fragile saw the light of day, which received great reviews in Poland and around the world. At the end of 2017, the artist released the album Orchestrated, where he introduced his fans to the most important songs from his career arranged for orchestra.
