In a quiet town somewhere in the Northwestern United States, the body of a schoolgirl, Laura Palmer, is found. But the show's creators are not interested in the famous question of who killed Laura Palmer; they are interested in what happened to her before. Moving the world of Twin Peaks to the present day, the creators deconstruct human relationships, analysing the lack of love between daughter and father or the lack of support in the mother as if from Giovanni Segantini's painting Bad Mothers. They draw on 'Blue Velvet' and other Lynchian paintings, everyday life and current issues, wondering what the dualism in the eternal journey of souls between good and evil is all about.
