Working Men's Club is a British synthpop and dance punk band. The band’s self-titled debut album came out in 2020. Working men’s clubs used to be meeting places for the working class, where workers met to exchange ideas and educate themselves politically and culturally. Today they are mainly youth clubs for concerts and performing arts – and the namesake of a three-piece from West Yorkshire that pays tribute to these venues. Working Men’s Club played their way through the post-punk revival with their debut single Bad Blood/Suburban Heights, always with that jangly REM vibe in their guitars, later integrating more adventurous sounds. The band got positive reviews from publications such as Clash, The Quietus, The Guardian, NME and God Is in the TV.
