“We are not a band that plays ska, reggae, rock, punk, pop, hip hip, Latin, folk, or funky music. We combine everything in a single style which we call Full Rhythm and where all components harmonize with the others,” says UK’s Eddy Allen who founded CCTV Allstars in Prague four years ago. It is an international project where only one member is born and bred Czech: trombonist and vocalist Štěpán Janoušek. The other members come from the UK, Canada, Brazil and Mexico.
The band has just released a new album, In Operation. “I have not been happier with any record in my career so far,” said Fredrik Janáček, the band’s bass guitarist and half-Swede. As a former member of -123min., Sluneční orchestr and Sluníčko, he certainly has a lot to compare. At any rate, CCTV Allstars are best experienced live – they will certainly prove that when they perform at United Islands like did last year.
