About HlasKontraBas
The project HlasKontraBas was originally founded by Ridina Ahmedová and Petr Tichý as a duo. More precisely, a duo using loops created in real time using loopers to arrange and layer tracks. As a duo, they were rightfully nominated for the Anděl Music Award for their 2016 eponymous album. In 2019, however, the founders came up with the idea of expanding the line-up with three more female singers and three double basses to replace all the looper soundtracks. With all the advantages of the “human factor” – liveliness, malleability and freedom of communication. And also with multiplied energy. Then the phenomenal singers Alice Bauer, Mirka Novak and Markéta Zdeňková were invited to join the ensemble, and with them came the virtuoso double bassists Tomáš Liška, Ondřej Štajnochr and Ondřej Komárek.
