About Martin Barre

Martin Barre was the guitarist of Jethro Tull from 1968 to 2012. Barre's sound and playing were undeniably a major factor in the group's success. In fact, Martin's masterful display in the title track from the album Aqualung led to his guitar solo being hailed as one of the best in rock music history. It is worth mentioning that in 1988 his playing on the album Crest of a Knave earned him a Grammy award. Apart from Jethro Tull, Martin has worked with many other artists including: Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Gary Moore and has shared stages with legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
