Jakub Matuska was born in 1981 in Prague. He attended a private school where he majored in graphic design. Then he joined the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Vladimir Skrepl studied studio painting. Matuska also deals with video, design, photos or comics. All these techniques were applied in their work often combined with drawing and painting.
The main motive is his figure and its various stylization. He is inspired by gothic scenes, the works of Dutch Renaissance painter Hieronymus Bosch or the early work of Spanish painter Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso.
