O Ruts DC
Perhaps someone who knows the hitovku of Babylon Is Burning from The Ruts? Or maybe Staring at the Rude Boys, which we know from the Dag Nasty cover or Gallows? The Ruts/The Ruts DC is one of the few bands that could so elegantly play punk rock vein and mingle in reggae and dub elements. The first live show took place in 1977 and the first single In A Rut, too by the way major pecka, came out in 1979. Later the same year was followed by debut album The Crack, where can we find other familiar pieces like Something That I Said, or Jah War. In 1980, but lost the big tragedy, singer Malcolm Owen overdosed on heroin and died … what a paradox after three clear anti-drug songs H-Eyes, Dope For Guns and Love in Vein of … The band decided to continue on under the modified name RUTS DC (Da Capo = Back to the top), but they broke up in 1983.
