Bohuslav Martinu Chamber Orchestra is an association of top musicians, soloists and chamber players (many of whom operate in addition as an excellent educators), which was his immediate predecessor in the former Collegium Musicum Brunense. He has worked since 1948, and in 1958 he introduced with great success at the prestigious Prague Spring Festival. For the future, the file was of key importance in 1962 when Mrs Charlotte Martinů, widow of the famous composer Bohuslav Martinů, gave approval to the orchestra bore the name of her husband. Chamber Orchestra Bohuslav Martinů became the first Czech interpretative body bearing the name of the great native of shelves.
