About Gabriela Vermelho

Gabriela Vermelho is a Czech singer, violinist, violist, quinton player, composer, performer and actress. Her extraordinary ability to master classical, jazz, folk and world music styles both instrumentally and vocally was appreciated in 2005 when she received the Alfréd Radok Award in the Talent of the Year category for her role as the witch Eva in the musical Ballad for a Bandit at the Husa na provázku Theatre in Brno, directed by Vladimír Morávek.

She gained stage experience during her studies at the P. J. Vejvanovský Conservatory in Kroměříž and at the University of Ostrava. Her multifunctionality and talent as a singer can be seen in her successful collaboration with the Gustav Brom Orchestra and, for example, with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, with whom she performed a demanding soprano part in Ladislav Simon's jazz Requiem under the baton of Vladimír Válek.
