About Polskie Znaki

Important figures of Polish pop culture led by Radek Łukasiewicz (Bisz/Radex, Pustki, Artur Rojek), Jarek Ważny (Kult) and Janusz Zdunek (Kult) together in 2021 released the well-received album Rzeczy ostatnie, on which they interpreted mournful Polish folk songs. It all started with Radek Łukasiewicz, Jarek Ważny and Janusz Zdunk, who decided to tackle the themes of passing, death and mourning. Although these are inevitable elements, being a part of everyday life, they are a cultural taboo. The musicians have created unusual compositions, which will help the listener to look at the final issues from a different perspective and thus help to tame difficult experiences.

The materials for The Last Things are the result of many hours of conversations and meetings with enthusiasts of the subject from all over the country; folk artists from Zamość, Lublin and Podkarpacie regions; rural cantors, singers and singers. On the basis of texts collected by Jarek Ważny and source recordings (recorded on a dictaphone e.g. in rural women's association meetings), compositions addressed to a contemporary audience were created. The songs have been recorded with vocalists practicing various styles on a daily basis, whose voice timbre and emotionality will allow you to find your way around. Radek Łukasiewicz was responsible for the music production of the album.
