The pop rock band Mando Diao formed in 1999 in the Swedish town of Borlänge, declaring inspiration from the Beatles; over the next decade they gained considerable recognition, mainly in German-speaking countries and Japan. In 2002, they released their debut album Bring' Em In, which defined the group's sound: vocal harmonies, simple arrangements reminiscent of 1960s garage rock and catchy songs. In the following years, they bounced off the formula into melancholic ballads (Infruset, 2012) or synthpop (Ælita, 2014). They currently have eleven albums to their credit, the latest of which is Boblikov's Magical World, 2023.
