The Quiet Heroes: Milena and Leopold – Stories from the 1950s

Sold out

Institut Paměti národa and the Brno TIC have prepared a joint "Digital History" ticket for visitors, which will take visitors at a discounted price to the exhibition The Quiet Heroes and the exhibition Fiery Horse and Dragon at the New Town Hall.

A journey into the history of the 20th century with the interactive exhibition The Quiet Heroes. The visitors won't just be listening to the stories of witnesses who lived through totalitarian regimes – they'll be actively involved in exploring the memories and using the tablet to actively influence and shape the adventure. Unconventional projections, visual and sound effects, interactive screens and augmented reality will help them.

The inspiring life stories of Milena and Leopold prove that not every hero is included in history lessons. The organisators have chosen them from more than ten thousand interviews from the Memory of Nations collection. They have one thing in common: they both selflessly helped others through their courageous actions, despite often risking their own safety. They wanted to make life easier for those living in the difficult times of the 1950s.

Milena takes visitors to the Jáchymov mines, from where she smuggled letters and where she fell in love with one of the prisoners. With Leopold, you will get a glimpse of the partisans and the communist prison of the 1950s.

The individual tours start at fixed times. This arrangement allows visitors to enjoy the tour in an intimate atmosphere, while seamlessly transitioning between the story stops.
