Peter Piek is a German painter, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and performance artist. In his pictures, the flat rhythm and a resolution dominate in spots of pure color. The art scientist Ina Gille wrote in 2005 about Peter Piek's works: "A drawing and painting garden, melodically rhythmically structured, as if one were dancing over the canvases, even venturing a self-portrait as a rock star, dream image without irony, open, relaxed."
From 2002 to 2006 Peter Piek studied painting/graphics at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig with Sighard Gille. Together with Michael Goller, he was the initiator of the independent "Artist Initiative Malfront" in 2003. Peter Piek's work has already been shown in solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad, and as a musician he released his debut album Say Hello To Peter Piek in 2008. Two more albums followed, I Paint It On A Wall (2010) and Cut Out The Dying Stuff (2013). His music is a blend of folk, country and electronic music.
