The "Stasimuseum" (museum of German state security in the GDR) is located on the premises of the former headquarters of the ministry of GDR state security, in Berlin-Lichtenberg. Since 1990 it informs about the German state security and its effects on the people in the former GDR in various different exhibitions. In 2015 the permanent exhibition "Staatssicherheit in der SED-Diktatur" (state security in the SED dictatorship) opened, in association with the authority of Stasi documents.
