Pawiak’s exposition starts right in front of its entrance, with a huge mock-up of a prison and its nearby buildings. It is surrounded by an abundant collection of historical pictures and documents from the epoch, which briefly present Pawiak’s history as a political prison up to the year of 1939. Among the considerable list of rebellious Poles of XIX and XX century are leaders and participants of the 1863 January Uprising, such as Romuald Traugutt.
