YAAM

YAAM is located close to the Ostbahnhof station in Berlin-Friedrichshain and is known as a place of multicultural encounters and integration. The center aims to give a home to all means of expression in urban culture; there are parties and concerts in various genres taking place on a regular basis. The program is completed with offers for urban sports, urban gardening and workshops, to art and music topics. In the summer, there is a beach bar at the Spree river banks.

The musical concept of YAAM brings together Caribbean and African sounds and contemporary urban club music. The careers of bands like Seeed or Culcha Candela started with their first concerts here.

The "Kult-Verein für Jugendkultur e.V.“, the association that has been running YAAM for the last 20 years in different places, wants to offer a manifold and interesting program. It has been awarded by the ministry of culture in 2015 for cheap entry fees and keeping it accessible for everyone to enhance Berlin’s cultural scene and give a platform to newcomers and famous artists.
