From the time Anders was 6 years old, he was sexually exploited by his 13-year-old friend, Peter. This continued for a number of years during the summer holidays. Today the adult Anders confronts Peter, and the two men engage in a challenging dialogue in which they revisit repressed memories.

This film is an intimate psychological drama about the courage to face the dark depths of one’s own soul. Driven by honesty, the film illustrates how guilt and shame are nourished by silence and cast long shadows into adulthood, but also that there is hope and light to be found in defying the pain and breaking the silence. Anders Skovbjerg Jepsen's "A Silent Story" is a deeply unusual and incomprehensibly brave film which shines a light on a taboo subject: Around one in three sexual assaults on children and adolescents are committed by other children and adolescents under the age of 18.
