About Precedens
Precedens is a Czech rock band, formed in 1982.
The leader and author of the music is Martin Nemec. An important person who contributed to the band in their early days was the well-known singer-songwriter Jan Sahara Hedl, see the album Praprecedens Co nám zbejvá recorded around 1983, but released only in 1991. He left the band in 1984. A prominent figure in this group was singer Bára Basiková, who sang songs on the first albums (Doba ledová, Věž z písku, Pompeje). Then she decided to work with Michal Pavlíček in the band Stromboli and to go solo. In 2005, she returned to the collaboration with Precedens and sang lead vocals on the album Aurora/Abpopa. Originally Basiková was in the group as a contrast to the raw voice of Jan Sahara Hedel. Behind the microphone Basiková was represented by singers Vladimír Dvořák, Jana Benetová, Jana Baďurová and Petr Kolář, in 2016–2019 by Iva Marešová and from 2020 by Daniela Langrová.
