Patryk Zakrocki is a Warsaw-born improviser and composer. He studied composition with Prof. B. Schaeffer and Prof. Ripplemark. He plays the viola, oscillator and guitar. He deals with spontaneous acoustic and electronic composition as an author of theatre and film music, instrumentalist and conductor. At the end of the nineties he took an active part in the creation of the Warsaw improvised music scene, among others, he led a series of Galimadjaz concerts in Jazzgota.
Currently he plays in the duo SzaZa and with the guitarist Marcin Olak, on violin or viola, oscillator and electric mbira, changes melodies in old music boxes and co-creates two exceptional projects of his own idea: Gabinet Massage of the Inner Ear and Kino Dźwięku. He has performed at festivals in Japan, China, USA, Uruguay, Turkey, Iceland and most European countries. He cooperates with Lado Abc, Böłt and the Listen Foundation.
